This animation was inspired by the Tate Modern exhibition of 'Sophie Taeuber-Arp' that ran from 15th July-17th October in London 2021.
"Only when we got into ourselves and attempt to be entirely true to ourselves will we succeed in making things of value, living things and in this way help to develop new style that is fitting for us." Sophie Taeuber-Arp, 1922
Taeuber-Arp's work was an inspiration, not only because of the modern feel to work produced over a hundred years ago but the melding of art and craft. Bringing art into the everyday and creating space to play was uplifting to see.
Within this animation, I've displayed a few of my favourite pieces from the Tate exhibition and inspired by Taeuber-Arps art performance to Hugo Ball's Dadaist poetry I began to think about sound design. I was fortunate enough to work with the incredible 'Father' sound designers, who brought this Dadaist inspiration to life.
